Storytelling is an important part of society. It dictates history, facts and fiction. Things that happen and things that don't, but the most important part is that everyone's story is told at least to their creator. But what would happen if a story went untold? That God or what ever divine force left a person and did not want to listen to what they had to say any more because they challenged what God said to them. Who would listen to their story then? If they no longer were controlled by God's rules what could they do? Would they loose touch with reality or would they try to live their lives seemingly normally.
Abandonment is a storytelling game, it concentrates on the story being told and for the player to take control of a fictitious character who within their own mind has been Abandoned by Fate, the Higher Powers and Society. They are hermits, wise people, the deranged and outcasts who are looked down upon because even though they didn't turn their back on the world, it turned it's back on them.
A game consists of two or more people telling a story, one person is known as the Storyteller and the others known as players. Each player creates a character and the world that they live in, every detail of their life is made by them. The storyteller creates everything outside of the players' characters, the world and setting are left to be made by the Storyteller as well as other characters not controlled by a player. Finally the Storyteller provides a plot or story for the session or the game. The players can interact within the environment as they will and gain special abilities that lie outside of the reality of the normal world.
